Bathtime Funny!

As usual, we ended the day with a bath. After we put Jackson in the tub, Sean realized that the water was a little low, so he turned on the faucet and poured lukewarm water all over the boy. Jackson loved it and so much to say!



We've come to the realization that the only thing Jackson loves more than the bath itself, is when the water drains-he loves playing in an empty tub!

Guys Weekend!

Sean got the best Father's Day present of all time-a weekend alone with Jackson, my brother Chip and his son Tyler, and Trae. I was in Atlanta for a girls weekend so Sean and Jackson invited the boys to come here and do whatever it is that boys do. I haven't asked too many questions, but did find this video and a few photos that Sean took from the weekend.
Looks and sounds like a lot of fun was had. I know I had a ball in Atlanta being a girl! And by the way Jackson was today, I can tell he had a fantastic time with his dad during his first ever guys weekend. I think he was a little depressed about getting back into our regular routine.

We're Having a Heat Wave....

It's HOT here. It's summertime hot, so hot that even the pool is only refreshing for a minute. Jackson's cheeks get so red when he's been outside and I was trying to figure out a way to cool him down quickly and then it hit me. My friend Christina gave me some of those vintage Tupperware popsicle sticks! We always had homemade popsicles growing up because they were much healthier than the store bought ones. It used to make me mad because popsicles are supposed to be a treat, so why did it have to be healthy? Now that I'm a mom, I get it. So I made some apple juice popsicles for the boy and he loves them!!

Fun in the Sun!

Jackson and I went shopping yesterday and came home with a small plastic pool and a big bag of plastic balls. While the boy was napping, I filled the pool up with water so it would be nice and warm(ish) when naptime was over. When Jackson woke up, I put his little swimmer diaper on, and in the pool we went. (I realized this was a great opportunity for me to catch a few rays, too!) I added some of the balls and a few sand toys to the water, and Jackson was thoroughly entertained for 45 minutes. It was a well made purchase, one that will get used on a daily basis this summer. Jackson loves to be in the water!!
