Cutie Pa Tutie (Happy Halloween!!)

Sean's office holds it's annual "Cutie Pa Tutie" parade every year, and finally, we were able to participate! Jackson decided to go as Superman. We got to Dad's office, walked around and met all the big bosses and saw some of Dad's friends, then we went and had some pictures taken.
After the photos, we got in line and went through the parade, where the boy was announced and everything. Jackson was great through it all, and when I say all, I mean at least 100 babies, toddlers and kids, with their parents, grandparents, and other relatives. There were TONS of folks milling about, and that boy was just as happy as could be. But pooped. By the time we got home, he had passed out from all the excitement.

Morris Mobility!

Sean's been encouraging this all along... and he's finally gotten his wish. Jackson's crawling! It's more of an army crawl, all arms and no legs, but he's getting where he wants to go, whenever he wants. No longer can we just put the boy on the floor and run into the kitchen or to the bathroom. Nope, all eyes are Master Jackson from here on out!

Autumn!

It is autumn here on the coast of North Carolina. To celebrate, we went to our local pumpkin patch, which is really just a bunch of pumpkins in a parking lot. No matter, it was a great photo opportunity, so we jumped on it!
Jackson seemed to like the pumpkins fine, but he was much more interested in eating the hay. Silly bug.

Smart Cookie

Jackson has been waking up during the night lately. Every two hours!! It's crazy, but Sean and I try not to go in there, since when we were pregnant, all we read about was teaching your kid how to "self soothe." Huh? Teach a baby how to calm themselves? Since this is our first shot at parenthood, we decided to try out the whole self soothing and... it worked!! When Jackson goes to bed, we turn on his aquarium, which plays soft lullaby's. He loves it, and rarely goes to sleep without it. He's figured out how to turn it on himself, because for the last couple of nights, we'll hear him talking for a couple of minutes, and then, the sweet songs of the aquarium. Our boy has taught himself how to go back to bed on his own. We are so proud!

Weekend with Grandie and Pa Paw

This weekend, Grandie and Pa Paw came to our house to stay with Jackson, so Sean and I could go to Myrtle Beach and celebrate our 6th anniversary! Of course, Jackson was in heaven because he loves his grandparents and they spoil him rotten with love! Grandie and Pa Paw got here just in time for lunch yesterday, so we went out for hamburgers and cokes before Sean and I hit the road. Lots of cuddling and playing occurred while we were away, and I don't think the boy even knew we were gone. He was so pooped when Grandie and Pa Paw left, he conked out for 2 hours! And that's a record!

Chucktown with Tyler

We spent our weekend in Charleston with Uncle Chipper, Aunt Sara and Cousin Tyler, who's 3. What fun Jackson had with his cousin! As soon as we got there, Jackson, who was slightly cranky from the 4 hour drive, became excited, started grinning like crazy, and was immediately drawn towards his cousin. Tyler is full blown talking all the time, and I know Jackson was just trying so hard to keep up!
Tyler would start telling stories and Jackson would lean toward him and start making all kinds of baby noises. It was the cutest thing. And Tyler was sweet enough to pull out his old toys and share them with Jackson. What a good kid he is! We were sad to go, knowing what a good time those boys had together.

Mr. Sandman...

We knew it was going to happen eventually, but not so early in the game... Jackson has caught his first cold. Poor kid, he's been coughing and sneezing. I feel so bad for him, but it's hard to when it hasn't affected his happy disposition at all. It's obvious when he's miserable, but even when he is, he doesn't know whether to laugh or cry, so he ends up just smiling. What a cutie! With this cold has come lots of sleep for the little man. He's napping quite a bit, but a lot of this sleep happens in the rocking chair. And you know who's rocking him... ME! And you know who else is partaking in all this napping... You guessed it! Needless to say, our house is in need of a vacuum and the dishes need to be done, but who could pass up the wonderful, cozy sleep with a baby. Nothing beats it!
