General Update

Lots of big news for the Morris'. We finally closed on a house in GA, so we are no longer apartment living. We are also pregnant with our second Morris baby, due in late November, so June has been a busy month for us! Auntie T and UK came to help us with the move and we were unpacked and settled in 3 days. Thanks you guys!

Nena and Gumpa sent Jackson a little present to prepare him for being a big brother.

Right after we moved in, Jackson found his "moonkey" halloween costume from last year. He was walking around going, "ooh ooh, aah ahh."

New 'Do

Jackson's hair was starting to make him look like Nicholas from the 70's tv show "Eight is Enough" and since summer's almost here, we decided to cut it. Originally we were going to use clippers to buzz it, but when we turned those suckers on, you would have thought we were going to amputate a leg or something. The boy freaked out. So Sean held him tight and I used the clippers to "thin out" the back of his hair. Then I brought out the scissors and things calmed down a little bit. I am no hair stylist, hence the Nicholas look, and since it was so traumatic, this might be his last home cut.

This entry was going to be about our girls weekend to TN a few weeks ago. My cousin Ande hosted us and Nena, Auntie T, Jackson and I drove up there together. The weekend was a blast, but unfortunately none of my pictures turned out. However, I do have some cute ones from the last month or so.

A New Park!

Since moving here, our favorite pastime has been going to one of the many parks Augusta has to offer. I am always on the lookout for a new one so Jackson doesn't get bored and we've hit the jackpot! Our library has a wonderful park with an outdoor amphitheater, walking trails, 2 playgrounds, and a pond with a gazebo. It's perfect and we can easily spend 2 hours exploring!

"Look I see it!"

Jackson calls the gazebo the "ella" I think because the top looks like an umbrella. He kept pointing to the roof and saying, "Wow, look at the ella!"

He also kept saying, "This is sooo cooool!"

"A snake, a snake!!" It was a big one, at least 5 feet long. He slithered through the water and then up on the shore. We left shortly after that.

Jackson's 2 Again!!

In Pettapiece fashion, Jackson celebrated his birthday for an entire weekend, and then again for another entire weekend. The second celebration was at Grandma Trexler's house, and the whole family came to celebrate with us! The weather was perfect and we spent the day playing in the yard, eating great food and enjoying each other's company. Jackson was spoiled with lots of love and presents and of course, cake.

Jackson is 2!!

We officially have a two year old and we can't believe time has gone by so fast! Jackson had a great birthday weekend, which we celebrated for 3 days, Pettapiece style. He helped me make monkey cupcakes, which were delicious and turned out great (thanks, Kathy)! He's really into Hotwheels and Matchbox Cars so we bought him a wheel-shaped car holder that holds a ton of cars. We filled up and he loves it. His Auntie T and UK sent him a big Lightening McQueen which is a winner! He hasn't put it down since Friday and we watched the movie "Cars" today and he held it the whole time, all the while saying, "McQuee, McQuee!" On Saturday, Uncle Chipper and Tyler came to celebrate the big birthday and Jackson had his first sleepover. That is to say, he and Tyler slept in the same room together. Tyler did great, he's an old pro at sleepovers, but Jackson was so excited he stayed up way past his bedtime and was up at 5:00am, ready to play! Nana and Gumpa surprised the boy with a Mater tow truck, which we opened on video cam so they could see how excited Jackson was! All in all, it was the best birthday! Rumor has it, there's another birthday weekend to come. His Grandie, Pa Paw and great aunties want to spoil him, too!

Cold Water Rinse Off

Jackson's all about bubble baths these days. Of course he's got to be rinsed off before getting dried off, and this is the result when cold water is involved.
