Sean started his new job on Monday and is officially a resident of Augusta, Georgia! We left Wilmington on Friday afternoon and stopped in Florence at Grandie Phi and PaPaw's, which is conveniently right on the way! Jackson stayed with his grandparents so Sean could get moved into his new place and we could get acclimated. Plus, his grandparents really wanted some time to spoil the boy. Two hours later, we arrived in our new town and our fully furnished apartment. It's a nice place, with everything we need, and it's only 5 minutes from Sean's office.
Our new home!
Sean's dad loaned us his GPS, so we got up Saturday and explored our new city! They've got a really cool riverwalk downtown, which has two levels, and an ampitheater. Right up our alley!

When we left the riverwalk, we ran into a farmers market, which is open every Saturday morning! We left downtown to explore the 'burbs and found some really great neighborhoods with beautiful homes and most importantly, lots of families. While Sean and I had a great time in Augusta, we missed our boy and couldn't wait to see him on Sunday. The Riverbanks Zoo is exactly halfway between Florence and Augusta, so we met the boy and his grandparents for lunch and fun on Sunday.
Waiting for the boy!
Back together!!
Jackson loved the aquariums!
One last snuggle with Grandie and PaPaw!
The zoo is awesome-they have elephants, giraffes, and they even have a silver back! It was a great afternoon, but Sean and I couldn't wait to get the boy to Augusta to show him his new home! The apartment has an older phone that we detached from the wall so Jackson could play with it. Who knew such a thing could make a boy so happy! Forget toys! It's funny watching him play with it, because he'll look at the numbers, push a couple of buttons and then put the phone to his ear. I wonder how he figured that out?
Sean worked on Monday and Jackson and I spent the day with a realtor looking at houses. Once again, the boy rallied when he needed to! We looked at 10 homes in 3 and a half hours and Jackson was a real trooper, getting in and out of the car, being carried around when really all he wanted to do was explore each house. He was a good boy, but the minute we got home, he passed out. Tuesday, we had to leave Sean in Augusta and come home to take care of our other babies- the cats. It was a sad homecoming for me because Wilmington's just not the same without Sean. As soon as we sell our house, Jackson and I will be joining him in our new city. We can't wait!!
